dcterms.abstractSolar energy is a renewable resource that uses solar thermal systems or solar panels to transform solar radiation into thermal or electrical energy. When compared to traditional monofacial photovoltaic (mPV) panels, bifacial photovoltaic (bPV) panels offer a major boost in energy production since they can catch sunlight from both the front and the rear. The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of ground installed bPV panels in Hong Kong and to assess the impact of key factors such as ground reflectivity (albedo), mounting height, and environmental conditions on panel efficiency. The study was simulated by Helioscope and PVsyst software, and experiments were carried out at the Northeast Tsing Yi Park in Hong Kong to compare the performance of bPV and mPV panels under different orientations (North, East, South and West) and tilt angles (0° to 90°). Through simulation data collection and energy modeling, the study compares the performance of bPV and mPV under Hong Kong condition.en_US
