dcterms.abstractThe purpose of this study is to gain empirical insights into the role of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) in sustainable destination development. This study provides a practical framework highlighting the success factors that DMOs have implemented in sustainable destination management, particularly in relation to key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It discusses best practices in sustainable destination management, including the interests of local communities, organizational structure and processes, collaborations with partners, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.en_US
dcterms.abstractConceptually, the agile destination sustainability management framework encompasses economic, environmental, and socio-cultural sustainability dimensions. The framework emphasizes the significance of eight dimensions and the necessity for an interactive process to effectively navigate dynamic changes and challenges. Finally, the study presents insights on how DMOs can effectively implement the new framework for sustainable tourism that aligns with the 17 SDGs.en_US
