Abstract: | This dissertation is mainly focused on Fire Services Maintenance Projects and using the QFD with questionnaire methodology model which is created or further developed from Telrad's idea in Israel as the quality management tools. Telrad discovers the great power of combining these two data collection techniques so as to ensure the quality and consistency of the questionnaire's results. The techniques of combination of QFD and questionnaires are extremely seldom to be used in construction and building services industry. Moreover, there are very few research paper utilizing quality management techniques like QFD together with questionnaires methodology in construction industry especially building services field to analysis barriers in the industry. In the case study, we applied the QFD with questionnaire methodology model in a typical building services company to translate customer's needs into the appropriate technical requirements so as to seek for the improvement of "less satisfactory or below expectation job efficiency". Finally, this dissertation used the "QFD with questionnaire methodology model" to create a survey questionnaire and to analyze the results from 80 maintenance projects. Maintenance projects are only the first attempts of using the QFD with questionnaires methodology model. It is recommended that the techniques of QFD with Questionnaires methodology model provides the norm of continuous improvement in large engineering and construction projects for future research activities. |
