| dcterms.abstract | In order to sustain the competitive advantages of Hong Kong and make Hong Kong a leading digital city in the 21st Century, the SAR Government has conducted many studies on the Information Infrastructure in Hong Kong, regulatory framework for electronic commerce, technical standards, etc. in the recent years. However, little research has been done to find out the inhibitors and facilitators for IT adoption in the public sector of Hong Kong. To fill this gap, a conceptual model for the IT adoption in the organisational, technological and external environments was developed. Mail questionnaire survey in the Government Departments was conducted to collect data for empirical analysis. Twelve hypotheses were formulated and successflully tested by the logistic regression technique. The result of the analysis showed that the factors of 'organisational readiness' and 'perceived benefits' would positively affect the extent of IT adoption in government. | en_US |
