| dcterms.abstract | The travel service industry is a fast-growing part of the Chinese economy. However, it seems that travel service companies in Hangzhou have faced difficulties in retaining qualified foreign language speaking tour guides in recent years. The purpose of this study is to investigate foreign language speaking tour guides' job satisfaction, relative deprivation and subjective norms among international travel agencies in Hangzhou; and to assess those factors affecting their turnover intention and organizational commitment. The author collected 187 self-administered questionnaires, the result of which showed that job satisfaction, relative deprivation and subjective norms have a close relationship towards tourist guides' turnover intention and organizational commitment. The research is to provide, accordingly, some implications and suggestions for travel service companies and other organizations such as tourism vocational colleges and government organizations. | en_US |
