| dcterms.abstract | The main objective of writing this dissertation is to investigate the duties and working procedures of different departments in a construction firm when carrying out a construction project. The information flow among different departments within the same construction firm is critical examined with a view to improve the efficiency and effectiveness. Also, a good information flow system for construction company is proposed. Based on the findings, a 'duty programme' that is a programme of five departments namely, estimating, purchasing, planning, quantity surveying and production departments, are set up. A duty programme is that it stated the task to be carried out at a certain period of time with logical linkage with the other tasks. Furthermore, the information flow system within a construction company in three stages: tender, pre-construction and construction, is investigated. The current practice is discussed. After these investigation, two set of proposed duty programme: each department in three stages and each stage with five departments, are established in Chapter XI. It may act as a reference for those contractors who want to improve their information flow system. | en_US |
