An evaluation of web publishing methods adopted by major Internet content providers in Hong Kongen_US
With the rapid roll out pace of Internet Content Provider (ICP) in Hong Kong, finding an effective web publishing method has become a major studying field for ICP practitioners in Hong Kong. Although there have been ongoing developments, especially in North America and Europe, on web publishing, there is no one significant framework or methodology that is available for global practitioners to follow. According to literature review and reports on researchers' experiences, the ability to provide timely and accurate contents within resource budget and time constraint is vital to the operation of an ICP. This project aims at evaluating the web publishing methods adopted by three major ICPs in HK. It takes a workflow management approach to identify the key problems and issues in web publishing. The findings are then used to develop a framework that serves as a basic solution for automating the web publishing process. It is expected that using the results of this research ICP practitioners in Hong Kong will be able to derive or select the web publishing methods that best suit their purposes.en_US
