| dcterms.abstract | Modern information technology can meet the requirements of our education system as it shifts its focus to constructivist learning environments. Technology can simulate the real-world contexts, to connect communities of learners within and outside schools and to afford them the experiences required to serve cognitive reflections. This research discusses different aspects in contemporary constructivist approaches and devises an Internet courseware on learning mechanics at secondary education level accordingly. The courseware tries to integrate interactive simulations with educational purpose. Students can try on their own to navigate in the web pages learning at their own pace. Latest technology of server/client architecture is introduced to foster collaborative learning. The courseware has been tried out by form four/five students and they have displayed encouraging performance in understanding the topic and solving problems. The potential use of Internet in Education is also evaluated. Similar kinds of study is scarcely found at this moment. It is anticipated that through the development of this Internet courseware, its strengths and weaknesses can be explored so that further improvement of quality courseware can be made. | en_US |
