dcterms.abstractThis study is to examine and analyze the impact of the availability of retirement protection on the organizational commitment of employees. Following the introduction of Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme, the employers are to face with the conflicting implications of the portability, retention and extension of retirement ability of the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme. As the employees are to select investment products managed by the investment manager, this study will also examine whether there is gender differences in making assets allocation decisions which determine the adequacy of retirement income and in particular are women are inclined to make conservative investment decisions. Limitations and implications of the findings are discussed and directions for future studies suggested.en_US
