| dcterms.abstract | The number organisation developing a Web site is growing rapidly. Many of these Web sites are developed without a thorough consideration of the value proposition to customers, opportunities of process improvement and requirements to have employees and customers full endorsement to the system. The purpose of establishing a framework on electronic commerce development is to streamline necessary processes in a logical sequence so that the development work can be organized in the best priority and decision can be made at different reference point. This dissertation is written based on experience of the author and recommendations from prior researches on the Internet development. The proposed framework asks for management and development team's focus on: - Setting out a value proposition to customers - Project feasibility assessment and impacts to existing business - Involvement of relevant internal staff and external partners in project planning - Reviewing and integrating existing process to embrace the change - Defining Web site requirement to facilitating decisions on site architecture and security control - Iterative type of development process by adding new functionality incrementally - Sufficient customer education and employee training to ensure a successful implementation | en_US |
