| Abstract: | This study was developed to shed some light on the role of culture influences the adoption of high technology products. Although culture appears to be an important element in consumer behavior; few have researched its direct impact on the adoption of high technology product. The adoption process for new products varies from one individual to another according to socio-economic and demographic characteristics. This article focuses on cultural values because an individual's inclination to adapt a new product is also influenced by his system of values. This paper analysis a framework that integrates and reinterprets current research in multicultural adoption behavior, in a specific product category, high technology products. In order to determine the influence of cultures on adoption high technology product, this study utilizes a multicultural research framework consisting of consumers coming from two distinct cultural groups: Japanese and American. The results of this empirical study suggest that culture-based have a significant impact on consumer's inclination to adopt high technology products. |
