dcterms.abstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effects on the maintenance organisation in terms of effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance organisation after outsourcing part of maintenance activities and to find out the factors that the decision makers will consider before the implementation of outsourcing. The generic term of maintenance organisation is used to describe the persons who are responsible for the planning, control and execution of maintenance operations. This may be wholly in-house, outsourcing or with both mix. With the development of facility management more and more outsourcing activities, the maintenance organisation are being experienced the changes with regard to the costs, space, productivity, flexibility, skills technology and management. If the culture of organisations embraces the concept of outsourcing. The next logical question involved the results (performance) that the organisations expect and some of the traditional expectations are: - 1.Outsourcing decision support the long term goals of the organisations. 2.Focusing on the core business activities 3.Reduce the related cost. 4.Level of satisfaction for the customers. 5.The arrangement of in-house staff 6.Partnering between in-house staff / vendors.en_US
