Abstract: | QFD was the core methodology used for this study. In Chapter 2, literature on total quality management in education, the concept and methodology of QFD as well as its applications were reviewed. Chapter 3 was to collect customer voices from two customer groups, the industry and junior merchandisers, for working out the (WHATs). With the HOWs, that is, possible study modules in fulfilling the WHATs, twelve appropriate study modules were identified by means of working out the inter-relationship on the QFD matrix. Using the same approach, Chapter 4 was to identify the effective kinds of supporting services to be provided by the course. Evaluation with students was made for those existing kinds in Chapter 5 for identifying importance-satisfaction gap. Based on the findings of the three surveys, discussions and some suggestions were made in Chapter 6 for modifying the course content and improving the supporting services. In the final chapter, besides making some comments and addressing some limitations, the author concluded by suggesting and showing her support for further studies. |
