Improving the efficiency of spatial query for Internet/mobile GISen_US
With the development of computing technologies and the overwhelming advent of the Web, a new method of spatial query for Internet/Mobile GIS is proposed, possessing significantly. The proposed methodology not only improves the response time of the online spatial query and also provides the latest and accurate information to subscribers in a limited bandwidth. A "dynamic" database is generated physically. The contents in database are updated continuously to reflect the real situation as the movement of a mobile user, as well as the changes of spatio objects within the scene of subscriber. Issues of the integration of spatial temporal set in database, how it works and the performance evaluation for real time application and on-line query are discussed. To demonstrate the idea for the study, a prototype was developed. A fundamental challenge in creating the new spatial query method for web- and location-based GIS services is in supporting interconnectivity and interoperability within the huge-sized spatio-temporal database, and providing the error-free information to users in the limited communication channel. A new spatial query method for Internet/Mobile GIS is proposed, illustrating interactions with the theory of set which impact on spatial, temporal and attributive behavior in the real world.en_US
