Organization commitment and job performance in diagnostic radiography profession : a hospital studyen_US
The Hospital Authority had been trying to improve the quality of health care service through various programs and campaigns. However the quality of healthcare service is affected directly by the individual job performance level. Moreover it is common to think that there is a relation between organisation commitment and job performance. However the literature cannot draw an affirmative conclusion so the study focuses on the investigation on the relationship between organisation commitment and job performance of the diagnostic radiography profession. A hypothesised model was developed and tested. Basically, the study is a case study and the subjects ( n=28 ) were the radiographers in one radiology unit in Kwong Wah Hospital. Data were collected through personal administered questionnaires and analysed by SPSS. Established instruments were used and reliability coefficients were generally good. Results showed that only the affective form of organisation commitment has a significant positive relation with the dimension of job performance. Moreover the demographic variables ( i.e. ranking , age and marital status ) showed significant differences in the mean score of dimensions of job performance with groups. Recommendations were made with reference to the finding of the study . Finally, limitations and suggested future research were discussed.en_US
