Abstract: | The thickness of fluoroacrylate polymer thin film ( 1nm to 200nm) deposited on Si(111) substrate by dip coating process was studied by phase modulated ellipsometry technique. Dip coating process control parameters included solution concentration, solvent types, withdraw speed, vapor zone, substrate materials, substrate surface treatment and heat pretreatment effects on deposition film thickness, film surface energy & film uniformity were evaluated. Water contact angle, solvent rinse residue thickness & heat treatment effect was used to identify the dip coating process parameters to achieve the preferred orientation close packed mono-layer of fluoroacrylate polymer. Substrate effect on surface energy of fluoropolymer thin film and vapor induced interference color fringes were observed. |
