| dcterms.abstract | Firstly, this paper briefly studies and reviews the history, the newest development of some important logistic concepts, strategies, technologies and practices, including logistic, demand forecasting/planning, inventory management, warehouse site selection, packing and storage, distribution centre management, logistic information management, total cost concept, system concept, the third party logistic, just in time (JIT) logistics, total quality management (TQM), supply chain management (SCM), quick response (QR) and efficient consumer response (ECR). Secondly, the paper gives a general introduction and brief analysis of the logistic situation of CNFTC, a Chinese government bulk cargo trading company. And finally, the paper develops an integrated logistic system framework for CNFTC, which contains several important sub-systems, including demand forecasting and planning sub-system, bulk cargo transportation management sub-system, inventory management and control sub-system, packing and storage management sub-system, distributing net works management sub-system, and logistic information management sub-system. Due to the constraints of limited time and resources, this paper only established the main framework of the designed logistics system, more practical details and procedures need to be further studied and developed. Hoping CNFTC could establish their sustainable competitive advantages by implementing this logistics management system framework. And at the same time, the author also hopes this paper could provide some help and guidance for other Chinese bulk cargo trading company (such as Sinochem, Minmetals, COFCO, CNCIEC) when making their logistic strategies or developing their own logistic system. | en_US |
