Abstract: This project is to write a software package for analysing a DC-to-DC class E regulator. The transient and steady-state simulated curves are to be compared with the experimental regulator waveforms. By extending the definition of the circuit element called alternor from a two-port to a three-port exhibiting more than four switching configurations, and expressing it in a modified nodal form, an overall s-domain description of the circuit can be obtained. The system of modified nodal equations comprises the equations, describing the open loop converter and characterising the feedback path. The s-domain solution allows for a qualitative analysis. Then closed-form time-domain solution of each cyclical configuration are found. By using these partial solutions in a cyclical way together with the boundary and threshold conditions, the transient waveforms can be found.
