|A new approach for studying the transient and steady-state behavior of quasi-resonant converters is developed. The algorithm is based on progressively identifying the switching topology at each simulation step, where the program automatically looks for a valid topology if any switch's condition is violated at that instant. Another superior feature of this method is the avoidance of solving complicated s-domain equations or differential formulas. Instead, simple resistive circuits are involved only and no small-signal approximation is required. An example of Zero-current Switching (ZCS) - Quasi-resonant Converter (QRC), with the considerations of parasitic effects, is presented. The simulated results are compared to the Pspices software package simulation and the experimental ones, and satisfactory agreements are obtained.
