dc.title | Hydraulic breaker : noise impact and control | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | The study on the noise control of hydraulic hammer was by the close-fit enclosure technique , and emphasis on the characteristic of middle to high frequency range created by the hydraulic breaker. A laboratory model was set up to simulate the performance of a hydraulic breaker and to identify qualitative factors which affected the performance of an hydraulic breaker enclosure. Enclosures made with plywood and damped steel plate were test under different conditions. The performance parameters of laboratory models were deduced and comparied with measurements. After the laboratory tests, a prototype of a plywood enclosure was made on site and tested under site conditions. Site measurements of the noise created by hydraulic breaker were taken at two demolition sites. Results were analysised and compared with the laboratory model. The study revealed that the noise reduction on hydraulic breaker by the close-fit enclosure technique was feasible. | en_US |
