Noise control for fan duct system using reactive silenceren_US
This report deals with a theoretical, experimental study and factory testing (Case Study) for the reactive silencer applied for fan duct system. The benefits of new reactive silencer are high durability and can be used to substitute the commonly used dissipative silencer. The design parameters for the characteristics of the reactive Micro-perforated panel (MPP) silencer are discussed. The result of the laboratory testing and the case study shows that reactive silencer performs well at low and medium frequencies which frequently appear in the fan duct system. After the site measurement for the factory-tested MPP silencer installed at the Water Scrubber system of the market, the performance are found to be equivalent to conventional dissipative silencer. This is the first successful practical application of the reactive silencer in Water Scrubber System for a market.en_US
