Abstract: Franchising become a popular form of venture expansion, through franchising, enterprises can use other people's resources to expand company. On the franchisee side, they can use franchising trade-mark and brand name to start up their business. So, should franchisee classify as entrepreneur? This study will perform in-depth interview to three franchisees to understand why are they using franchise as business start up? Is franchisees' background affecting their franchising performance? And, what is their long term plan after being a franchisee? After in-depth interview, we found that franchisee has the entrepreneur characteristic and should be classified as entrepreneurial.
