dc.title | Sensor array processing for the detection of multiple straight lines and curves | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | The idea of using sensor array processing methods in pattern recognition will be applied to detect straight and curved lines in an image. The approach is based on the analogy between the fitting of multiple lines and the method of determining the angles-of-arrival of electromagnetic waves impinging on an antenna array. A parameterization method will be formulated so that an image can be transformed into a format suitable for sensor array processing. The number of these straight lines or curve segments will be estimated by the FB-MDL method. Their angles can be regarded as the angles-of-arrival and determined by the ESPRIT. This is an eigenvector method which employ two sets of snapshot measurements obtained from arrays displaced from each other by translation. Finally, an error constraint method will be derived to obtain the offsets or positions of these lines or curves in the array. | en_US |
