dc.title | Business centres in Hong Kong : a complete FM outsourcing solution | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | In Hong Kong the outsourcing of facility management has been a common business practice for years. This is to allow a more effective use of the operating budget, provide better customer services and satisfaction and a reduction in any non-deliverables, thus increasing overall efficiency. Further to the outsourcing of facility management to a separate organization to manage the facility functions is the lease of accommodation with support services from a 'business centre' as an organisation's office space. Business centres allow every type of organization to commence business immediately on flexible terms. A business centre offers well-equipped and furnished premises, usually in purpose built, well-designed buildings in desirable locations. Staff of the centre are well trained to assist their clients. In this research, the scope of services offered by business centre operators in Hong Kong, the type of clients using the centres and the impact o these clients' core business are investigated. More importantly, the work is to test that "Business Centres provide clients all typical FM services without the need for ownership or long-term leasing of office space." Having good quality of office services, well-equipped and furnished accommodation at a prestigious location, the test is to allow business centre clients to justify financially the development of these centres as their office space instead of conventional offices. | en_US |
