Abstract: | In this project, I am glad to concentrate my effort to investigate the impact of political and economic factors on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in People Republic of China (PRC) of the Hong Kong Textile and Clothing Industry. From the findings, there are 18 political and economic variables have shown significant improvements when comparing environment before year 1996 with the environment of year 1996. When compared with the "Proposed action program to promote Direct Foreign Investment in China" by S.K. Zafar (1993), the result of this project indicated coherent direction of approach. Meanwhile, with reference to future action, respondents were anxious that improvements appear in the areas of how quota distribution is effected, simplification of import and export procedures, improvement to quality, control and elimination of corruption. Finally, the study can be done on other business sectors after suitable modification of general and business-related questions to examine whether or not actual and potential investors feel just as strongly about the issues identified in this report. |
