Data exchange in computer system for building teamen_US
This study seeks to understand why information may be distributed to building team members late, inconsistent or containing faults. The sources of problems include inadequate coordination of information and poor communication in exchanging data among different disciplines. An integrated system appears to be needed and a system to meet the requirement is proposed. In the following chapters, I will try to demonstrate the application of computer technology in exchanging information in the Design and Construction Process. Some major items outlined in this paper are : (1) Investigation and analysis of activities and information flow among different disciplines in local building industry. (2) Identification and studying of the problems in transmission of information and opportunities of the application of computer technology in the building process. (3) Suggestion of an integrated system to handle the problems and proposal of an integrated system for building team. (4) Development of a part of the proposed system and evaluation of performance and influence of the integrated system.en_US
