dc.title | Development of a sustainable knowledge based innovation power-house (KBIPH) for the transformation of traditional manufacturing operations in Hong Kong and mainland China | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | The Physical Factories (PF) of local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are in need of transform from Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) to Original Brand Manufacturing (OEM) businesses. This transformation could be achieved through Original Design Manufacturing (ODM). A Knowledge Based Innovation Power-House (KBIPH) is proposed by the Researcher from a cybernetic perspective point of view to effect the transformation. It provides a direction for SMEs to survive under the worldwide impact of globalization, digital and knowledge economics. The KBIPH builds in Marketing Intelligence (M-Intelligence) to assist product innovation through product requirement research to the identification of potential product opportunities. It also affects the product selection under risk-free project portfolio management that is based on the qualitative, quantitative and risk sensitivity evaluation perspectives. Knowledge Management (K-Management) with this environment takes advantage of various Domain Experts (D-Expert) to discover innovation knowledge through web-based connectivity and infrastructure for reuse during product design in new product development. The methodologies in this research focus on the best competitive organics to outperform rivals in business. The study starts with extensive observations of the business environment in a macro-point of view. Then it convergences step by step drilling down into the main-stream and trends of the micro-innovation business opportunity via the Knowledge Based Learning Organization (KBLO) to transform operations into the KBIPH. The process divests most non-core competent businesses while injecting intensive innovation capabilities and capacities to form the lean and agile KBIPH for products innovation that can generate intellectual capital into structural capital in terms of organizational growing-ability, stable-ability, profitability, productivity, inventory turn-over and safe-ability as it's competitive power with predictive business performance to foresee the future results under onward knowledge management of the business. | en_US |
