dcterms.abstract | The objective of this dissertation is to study the pile settlement and pile load in a pile group and the internal forces in pile group. The analysis of pile group is carried out by the elastic theory by Poulos. The pile interaction effects obtained are then incorporated into a pile cap analysis program and the effects of uncoupled and coupled pile group effects are then considered. To achieve this aim, two existing software have to be modified. The main works for this project dissertation are as follows: Clear all the known bugs in the pile group analysis program. Analysis of floating pile in finite soil layer depth is added into the analysis of pile group with flexible cap and rigid cap. Modify a plate analysis program to consider the coupling effect of the pile group. It is found that the coupling effect of pile group has a significant effect on the evaluation of pile settlement and on the internal force in the pile cap. It can be concluded that pile group interaction effects is very important in the analysis of the pile cap. | en_US |
