A boundary accuracy assessment on 10 building lots under Chinese Temple Committeeen_US
The objective of this research is to analyze the lot boundary accuracy of the temples under Chinese Temple Committee in HK. The reason to choose this topic is that, the original survey records for those temples are vague, some even inaccurate. What's more, many rural lands were measured by the government a hundred years ago. The land titles have a long history. During this time, the city has changed rapidly and many new buildings were built around those temples. In the past years, there were limited survey records made for lots. Some land grants of that time had problems of inaccuracy of measurement. Some were accurate. Some were wrong. That's to say. There were little information about whether those temples were re-built, saying nothing on the concrete butts and bounds. In such a case, detailed analysis of these evidence and re-establishment are necessary. Some practical cases to analyze the precision of there evidence. The records involve land boundary plan, survey record plan, lot index plan and so on, which have been used or based on for traverse origin and/or boundary definition or redefinition.en_US
