Online Chinese news reading systemen_US
The purpose of this dissertation is to design and development an Online Chinese News Reading System ("OCNRS"). The evolution of the World Wide Web ("www") creates a new form of information and communication media and thus can be seen as an opportunity for online newspapers. As finding relevant news by going through each online newspaper in the www is time-consuming and there exist no one web site that provide an interface that allow readers to browse through newspapers of Hong Kong, China and Taiwan at one time. Therefore, the idea of designing and developing the OCNRS come out. The OCNRS should be user-friendly enough that allow Internet news readers to browse through some of the major online newspapers in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan; can provide keyword and date searching functions; and its home page can be personalized by readers to suit their reading behavior. Moreover, the OCNRS contains a news forum for readers to discuss on news they are interested. In chapter 3, we will describe the system architecture of the OCNRS while the OCNRS will be evaluated in chapter 4 of this documentation.en_US
