Development of golf simulatoren_US
This project aims to design a golf simulator which is accurate, realistic, lifelike, space saving, portable and has an acceptable price for most of customers. A golf simulator is a training device that allows one to practise golf on a graphically simulated driving range in an indoor setting. The challenges of developing a golf simulator involve creating methods to measure horizontal launch angle, vertical launch angle, velocity of the ball, club and ball impact angle and the club head moving trajectory accurately. At the beginning of the project a detail literature and market review were studied especially the existing products in the market. Theoretical analysis was done in this project. It contains linear processing of sampled data, methods to decide the horizontal offset, basic data calculation, golf ball's moving path prediction using MATLAB and CAE analysis. There are many innovations in the golf simulator designed in this project. A new method was developed in this project to measure the horizontal launch angle, vertical launch angle, velocity of the ball and the club head moving tracjectory accurately using many infrared range sensors. The infrared range sensors were designed in this project specifically for the golf simulator. Three types of infrared range sensors were designed and they are all based on triangulation and position sensitive detector (PSD). They are immune to the object color and ambient lighting conditions. A data acquisition system and PC software were also developed to analyzes the data and to present the results with a user-friendly interface. This data acquisition system can process 80 analog chancels synchronously with high accuracy. The PC software performs data processing and creates realistic 3D animation display. A prototype of the golf simulator was made and tested in this project. Six experiments were carried out to test the performance of the prototype and the results proved the feasibility of the design. Future improvement and recommendations were given.en_US
