dcterms.abstractThe amount of information stored in database is exploding. From zillions of point of sales transactions to credit card purchase, database are now measured in gigabytes and terabytes. In today's fiercely competitive business environment, companies need to rapidly turn those terabytes of raw data into significant insights to guide their marketing strategies. In this case, it drive the development of Business Intelligence which consists of the three Ds of data analysis- Data Warehouse, Data Mining and Decision Support. This research study highlight how these three Ds integrating with each others. A comprehensive architectural overview proposes system integration. It also provides an introduction to the basic technologies of Data Mining and Expert System. Finally, this study is wrapped up with a case study in Banking Industry to illustrate how Business Intelligence can delivery the value to marketing strategies.en_US
