dc.title | OEM to ODM/OBM development in consumer electronics manufacturing industry in Hong Kong | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | To remain competitive, Hong Kong companies are advised to give up the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) production by developing the original design manufacture (ODM) services and own brand manufacture (OBM) products. In order to analyze the development process and difficulties faced by the companies, an analytical framework is developed with a particular focus on the consumer electronics manufacturing industry. Through the case studies of three companies in Hong Kong, the findings are used to compare with the assumptions suggested in the analytical framework and finally, the analytical framework is revised to reflect the realistic situations of the industry. | en_US |
