Agricultural lot boundary re-establishment by old aerial photograph and topographic mapen_US
The objective of this research is to provide an evidence of lot boundary in a land dispute case. Furthermore, a possible solution for processing these similar cases is proposed. In this case the re-establishment of an accurate boundary between two lots is the key issue. As it is a long time since Demarcation District Survey Sheets (D.D. Sheets) were produced, yet the agriculture features in the New Territories remained unchanged till early 1960's. The New Town and real estate developments started in the 1960's gradually gave landscape and land use changes to the area. Historical aerial photograph was the main data source in this research to capture the positions of the agricultural occupation. The photos recorded in the 1960's were done in large scale and had a full coverage of the whole territory. Using the significant land features appearing on the old air photos and still existing on ground today, a GPS survey is performed on these chosen features and used as control points to provide coordinates to the target field bonds in 1989 and the wall in 2005.en_US
