Indoor design template for antenna planning in indoor applicationen_US
In this paper, an indoor design template for antenna planning in indoor application is presented. A tunnel propagation model is used to simulate the propagation loss inside the indoor environment. Field tests are done and measurements are taken to statistically derive each type of medium loss such as wall insertion loss, concrete wall insertion loss, glass insertion loss, etc. System loss together with fading are also considered in the design template. A shopping mall and an indoor commercial centre are chosen to investigate the accuracy of the design template using base station and that using repeater system. A comprehensive comparison is done on both cases and good agreements are obtained. Path balance and desensitization by excessive uplink noise have been studied in details to prevent the donor bas station from receiver desensitization. For a complex and full of partitions indoor environment, the indoor design template gives better predictions than ray tracing algorithm.en_US
