dcterms.abstract | Facilities Manager should try his best to achieve and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for pedestrians in shopping centre. The aim is to capture or keep them in the shopping centre with effective and efficient pedestrian flows through entrances and along their paths. The objective of this research was to investigate the performance of the pedestrian circulation patterns in the Pacific Place shopping centre. Four members were invited to do the pedestrian countings among different entrances for comparison and analysis. Pedestrian loadings and flows did indicate the various performances among these entrances and paths. Most of them could be improve in many different ways. This research developed a methodology to evaluate the performance of these entrances and paths to meet the objectives. Hence, the performance of the entrances and paths for the pedestrian circulation can be improved or enhanced. | en_US |
