With the rapid and continuous growth of the domestic travel market in China, there is a huge demand of hotels for the middle and lower income groups of travelers. Economy hotel operation is now becoming a very popular and profitable business model in China, and has been developed to a critical stage. More and more domestic and foreign investors and operators flooded into this market, and they have been trying very hard to have strategic alliances with partners and aiming at capturing as much of the market share as possible and be the first movers. In this economy hotel operating model, cost management in terms of human resources is one of the key factors of success. This research aimed at providing readers with some valuable information and experience sharing from professionals and hotel operators with whom the author interviewed. This paper reported insightful information and results of a study about labor outsourcing in managing human resources costs in China's economy hotels. The author also shared the experiences from operators whom had employed labor agencies to handle their staffing and recruiting matters. The author hope that the study will help to understand more about the costs, benefits and the potential risks of employing a labor agency to do all the aforesaid functions.en_US
