Abstract: | Service oriented architecture (SOA) is a hot topic of discussion currently with regards to enterprise architecture. More and more organizations are turning to a SOA to increase productivity, enhance operational efficiency and agility, and align their IT infrastructures with business strategies. SOA is valuable to enterprises that need to solve business. To help organizations take advantage of SOA significant benefits, this study brings forward a view to how to plan SOA project. We give a description about the concepts and values of SOA, and build a better strategy to plan SOA project from management, financial and technical aspects. We also develop an adoption framework based on SOA. They are the solutions about SOA initiative, implementation, evolution; we would present our solutions from business, technologies, finance, governance, policies, risk management, etc. In this study, we also provide some approaches to implement SOA. They include implementation steps and SOA ROI approach which illustrates how to measure the return on investment. The proposed framework or model can be useful to executives, managers in understanding the value of SOA and how to adopt SOA in organizations. Also it can be helpful to the practitioners in making strategic plan and taking the appropriate actions on issues concerning SOA adoption. |
