Validation of an anthropogenic emission inventory of carbonaceous aerosols for the Pearl River Delta regionen_US
This dissertation presents a study on the validation of Zhang Qiang's anthropogenic emission inventory of carbonaceous aerosols for the Pearl River Delta region. From the inventory, emissions are 42425.6 ton/year for OC and 21115.8 ton/year for EC. This study summarizes emissions and ratios of OC and EC by cities and source sectors. The emissions of OC and EC from residential sector contribute a lot to the total carbonaceous aerosols. The emission OC/EC ratios are higher than 2 in most cities in the PRD region. On the average, the emission OC/EC ratios in Hong Kong and Shenzhen are near to concentration OC/EC ratios found in previous studies. For industry sector, the emission OC/EC ratios in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou are lower compared to previous studies; while the emission OC/EC ratio from residential sector should decline in Hong Kong. Mong Kok site is found to represent typical roadside OC/EC ratio measurement in Hong Kong.en_US
