dc.title | Smart learner : intelligent Web-based e-learning guide system | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | A new world of new learning and teaching behaviors; A new context for systems and services; As we entered the late 1990s ( about 1997), the e-learning era began. E-learning is playing an increasingly significant role in our professional. As I am working for an institution and being an instructor of Cisco Networking Aceademy, I am one user of the e-learing guide system in daily time, so I do the thesis focused on the contents in most Web-based e-Learning systems are just added the presentations of multimedia or converted the contents of textbook into homepages. They are general tools which claim to be suitable for any number of learning activities, subjects or students. In fact to read the contents of homepages is not better than reading directly to the textbooks. This study tries to build an intelligent Web-based learning system that uses a knowledge-based approach to build courseware for providing a flexible and effective learning environment. This approach proposed to change the passive browsing homepage situation into active searching for selecting adequate contents, understanding related knowledge learning model, and increasing the depth and breadth of learning. In addition to offering a flexible and effective learning environment, this study also tries to deploy the following mechanisms: intelligent automatic question-making mechanisms and a learner's learning monitoring mechanism. The intelligent automatic question-making mechanisms can make test questions automatically and continuously for the teaching units. The learner's learning monitoring mechanism is used to monitor the learner's learning on the web to assure the learning effectiveness. This study also tries to enhance the communication between teaching units and learners by adding a communication platform. | en_US |
