dc.title | Which survey is best suited for your needs? : a comparative evaluation of the major compensation and benefits surveys in Hong Kong | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | It is undeniably to say that compensation and benefits surveys are critical to the company success. In fact, these surveys convey very important information to executives in making management decisions on their human resources. In order to identify the surveys which best suited for company's need, the current major proprietary compensation and benefits surveys in the Hong Kong market are scrutinized. Since each survey has its own strengths and weaknesses, users are required to make the correct choice based on their genuine requirements. To better understand the users' evaluation on their satisfaction with the surveys as well as the effectiveness, their practical usage on these information sources are also studied. Although the human resources practitioners are generally satisfied with the results offered by the current surveys and therefore appraised them with positive comments, there are indeed numerous areas for improvements, especially data accuracy, which survey providers are required to pay further attention to. In view of the abundance of free pay surveys in the Internet, it is rather surprising that human resources practitioners are not actually utilizing these data at all due to the unreliability of information sources. With regard to the future of pay surveys, it is expected that the current traditional job-based surveys will still persist for a period of time. Moreover, it is believed that possible change of survey models or mechanisms will take place only with revolutionary work designs modifications and users acceptance. | en_US |
