dcterms.abstract | The drug problem among Hong Kong's young people has been growing at an alarming rate. The requirement of building a system can monitor online activities of young drug abusers is risen. D-Miner is a web-based system which is designed to find potential drug abusers on the internet. It consists of four components, web spider, drug library, discovery engine, and report engine. It collects data from hot forums, such as Hong Kong discuss, Uwants and Yahoo Knowledge. It also can store drug-related words or phrases to a drug library, and has a rule-based algorithm to match the data with drug-related words while the rules can be customized for different users several. Tests for web spider and simple version of text mining have been conducted, and the results are expected. | en_US |
