dcterms.abstractNowadays, Geographical Information System (GIS) is rapid developing and used in spatial data collecting, storing and analyzing. As the mobile technology goes increasingly, computers are not the only container for GIS, and mobile GIS is a new heated trend. In this dissertation, buffer function is designed on the Windows Mobile System, which is one of the most important functions of GIS. To realize this function, a basic frame is designed using Visual Studio, including the basic operation, such as map loading, moving, as well as buffering. Furthermore, a test for buffer is carried out to obtain the buffer result and the consuming time. The buffer result is exported in text and image type to check whether it matches up with standard, while the consuming time displays the capability and steady in some way. The dissertation also analyzed the consuming time differences of geometries that vary with point account changing.en_US
