dc.title | Research study on considerations and sizing estimation of electrical installations in intelligent buildings under the consideration of harmonics | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | Non-linear load is commonly found in electrical systems of new buildings. It generates harmonic current which is fed back into the electrical system. The harmonic current in traditional devices are very small and therefore negligible in the system design. However, in modern systems, the content of harmonic current can no longer be neglected and occasionally causes expensive damages as a result of system overloads. This research study will address the effect of harmonic currents on the standby generators, cable sizing, power transformers and protective devices. Compare the differences of the calculations for the system design for the systems connected to linear and non-linear loads. As a result, the harmonic current will affect the rating of the equipments and the reliability of the system. | en_US |
