dc.titleRemoval of carbamazepine in water by heterogeneous Fenton-like system with zero-valent ironen_US
dcterms.abstractIn this study, a heterogeneous Fenton-like system with zero-valent iron was designed to remove persistent micropollutant carbamazepine (CBZ) in laboratory environment. The controlled variables were investigated at room temperature including pH, concentration of H₂O₂, dosage of zero-valent iron (ZVI) and CBZ concentration as well as the degradation kinetics. This Fenton-like process was demonstrated to work effectively when at low pH with sufficient oxidant H₂O₂ and modest dosage of catalyst ZVI. In consideration of economic factor, the target compound CBZ removal rate in this research can reach the highest level with pH 3, 0.15 mM H₂O₂, and 0.05 g/L ZVI. Besides, the mathematic model was built to describe the relationship among decay rate constants, oxidant concentration, catalyst dosage and concentration of target compound. The model gained in this study could also be used to predict the removal rate of pollutant in analogous system.en_US
