| Abstract: | The study includes the calibration of a binary logit-type arrival choice model with the use of multiple regression technique. A stated preference experiment was performed in Hong Kong in July 1996 to examine how driving license owners were influenced in the selection of an arrival time for home to work trip in the morning. A total of 114 successful observations were obtained. In each observation the interviewee was presented with a pair of options showing different periods of time regarding early arrival and late arrival and their preference were recorded under different scenarios. Different questions including flexible working hours, total journey time from home to office, total cost of travel for the journey, maximum tolerable early arrival time and late arrival time were set. The stated preference survey was carried out to ask the respondents to answer questions under trade-off conditions. Average personal monthly income, age, gender and work start-time were also inquired. |
