Abstract: In the construction industry, construction claims and disputes solution is important and inevitable for both owners and contractors. In recent decades, many foreign companies invest in Mainland China and become property developers or owners of projects, looking for the huge market potential in Mainland China. In previous researches, much work has been done on sources and solution of claims and disputes. It is found that the topic of the paper is a research gap in the present literature, which is to investigate the differences between local and foreign-related developers in dispute management in Mainland China. Base on the literature on dispute theory of causes, dispute resolution methods, claim process, prevention of dispute and cultural consideration, the methodology of interview was used to find the difference between local and foreign-related developers in dispute management in Mainland China. In the part of observation, the comparison got the outcomes of the interview in "Respondents' common answers for the two groups and distinctions between the two groups" and "Strengths and weaknesses of Local Group and Foreign Group". Then the discussion was carried out to explore the strengths and weaknesses of the local owners' project and the foreign-related projects, together with the reasons and possible solution or difficulties of the current problems.
