Frequency control in a micro-grid with storage and renewable energiesen_US
Since the environment and the energy problem is more and more serious, the demand for the renewable energy is increasing, the renewable can provide us a lot of benefit and offer us a more clean world, however, there are also some disadvantages we cannot ignore, one of the most important issue may be the unstable input of the power. And that is what this thesis to solve, the frequency control. There are mainly two objectives for this thesis. The first is to study the simulation tool DIgSILENT PowerFactory, which is a professional software for modeling, analysis and simulation in power system. The second objective is to develop a new way to implement the frequency control in a microgrid with battery storage and renewable energy resource. The thesis will start with introduction of the basic information and application of the DIgSILENT, the microgrid and the frequency control. It will then focus on modeling the island battery inverter, and to achieve the frequency control. Finally simulation result will be presented to demonstrate the effectiveness the frequency control.en_US
