A mobile-phone based indoor WiFi positioning systemen_US
A new mobile phone indoor positioning system based on Received Signal Strengths (RSS) of Wi-Fi is developed in this study. With the integration of Google maps and the floor plan of buildings, the developed system could show user's current location in Google maps with the accuracy about 2 meters. A new method is provided for positioning and accuracy purpose. From which the time and spatial resolution of WiFi data could be obtained and used for designing the positioning network. A two-step search algorithm is developed for RSS positioning which could improve the efficiency and precision. This lightweight algorithm could be implemented by the processor in the mobile phone smoothly without any other extra hardwires or servers. The first step is to divide the whole district into several small areas for rough positioning, the second step is to get precise position which is based on the result of the first step and display it on the map with the floor plan.en_US
