DOM and DEM generation from lunar orbit imagery in sinus iridum area and applications in topographic analysisen_US
The successful launch of Chang'e-1 and Chang'e-2 Lunar Orbiter stands for China's deep space exploration technology has step into the forefront of the world. The CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) camera equipped on the Chang'e-2 has a high resolution about 7 m and its stereo pairs can be made into high resolution lunar surface images. These images have vital significance to follow-up landing of Chang'e-3 and building of digital moon platform. This paper makes a detailed study about the imaging principle of CCD stereo camera equipped on the Chang'e-2 and the image data storage format. Two difficulties, image stereotactic and matching, are needed to be solved according to the feature of Chang'e-2 image data and the particularity of lunar remote sensing. The solving of difficulties is the necessary condition for lunar DOM generation. For the images shot at different locations of CCD stereo camera will have different texture, this paper do some light and color uniform work on the generated DOM to make the result as a consistent tone and clear texture DOM data. This paper also does some research about the CCD image stereotactic of Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), that is EO parameters resolving. The experiment systematically researches the working principle of the linear array CCD image and two main sensor models -- physical sensor model and universal sensor model. Through the analysis of the principles and characteristics of the rational function model (has no relationship with sensor's parameters) which is used to resolve the EO elements and learn other methods of image positioning linear CCD stereo camera equipped with a high-resolution commercial satellite is proposed based on rational function LRO satellite model of CCD image stereotactic method. in the absence of satellite orbit parameters, the successful use of the lunar surface control point solution forget the exterior orientation elements LRO satellite CCD images , production lunar DEM data. Finally, the generated DEM data will be used to do some research work about impact craters in Sinus Iridum: extraction of craters' diameter, distribution and elevation; searching relatively smaller elevation difference areas as reference for other zones' study and landing position selection of Chang'e-3.en_US
